Picturesque Udaipur, Romantic City of Lakes

Unquestionably one of India's most romantic cities, Udaipur is nestled between the historic Aravelli Hills and the sparkling waters of its famous lakes. Even though Udaipur is one of the biggest cities in Rajasthan, it yet has a quaint little town atmosphere. The Old City is strewn along the east bank of Lake Pichola, which is located in the centre of the city.

Narrow, winding alleyways with sharp bends and turns lead to magnificent marble palaces, hibiscus-filled gardens, dazzling fountains, and pavilions that are built along a succession of mild slopes. Many writers and artists have been inspired by this idyllic location.

The historical Rajput-era forts, opulent palaces, breathtaking lakes, architectural temples, museums, galleries, traditional festivals, and rich culture of Udaipur are world-famous. You absolutely must include Lake Pichola, City Palace, Eklingji Temple, Ambrai Ghat, Saheliyon Ki Bari, Bagore Ki Haveli, Vintage Car Museum, Bada Mahal, and Shilgram on your list of the top Udaipur attractions to see.

Trekking, paragliding, cycling tours, and helicopter rides are all enjoyable options for thrill-seekers in Udaipur. Sunset boat trips at Lake Pichola or Fateh Sagar Lake are fantastic choices for anyone looking for some peace and quiet. Others can go on a shopping extravaganza at Shilpgram, Bada Bazaar, or Mochiwada Bazaar to stock up on priceless products like Bandhani sarees, handcrafted juttis, silver jewellery, purses, and genuine Rajasthani handicrafts.

Chayan, my friend, being very punctual, was waiting for me at the station. I hadn't met him for a couple of years, I guess. Being a bachelor, his flat in Jodhpur was actually disheveled and unkempt. Even so, I liked it, as it reflected the typical bachelor's freedom - to enjoy every bit of life. After a cool shower and a heavy breakfast, we moved on to the Polo Ground that was full of the kite flyers from India as well as all over the world. This International Kite Festival is celebrated every year in the month of January (on Makar Sankranti). People were gathered to reveal their kite flying skills with full enthusiasm and vigor. Air Force helicopters were also releasing a number of kit
