Escaping the fervor floating in Jaipur, I moved on to taste the sweetness of sand further. Ramesh, the driver, sped down the congested route and past the clamorous traffic. I was already aware of Ramesh's love of music and the constant playback in his taxi. He played good music, thank God. The upbeat songs Ramesh played had me tapping my feet nonstop. Ramesh loved to imagine himself as Micheal Schumacher and his old vehicle as a Ferrari, which I also saw throughout the journey. I thought Bikaner was more pleasant than its rivals. Because there are fewer visitors, there are less hassles. With a real guide this time, I started my Bikaner tour by viewing the previous Bikaner Fort ( Junagarh Fort ). I was informed that the fort included a museum and a number of additional buildings. It was a clear, beautiful March morning. I was in Rajasthan, India's most vibrant desert. The charming Pink City of Jaipur served as the ideal starting point for my exploration of Rajasthan's many diverse attractions. Jaipur truly has an incredible variety of activities to suit every taste. My trip was made memorable by the gorgeous latticed windows of the Hawa Mahal , the stunning blue ceramic items at Johri Bazaar, the city vista from Birla Mandir , and the impeccable City Palace . Courtesy: jaisalmer.nic.in Tourist season was at its peak. Jaisalmer was now packed with tourists crazy for forts, festivals, feasts and safaris. I headed towards the Sand Dunes to explore the captivating beauty and lifestyle of the interiors of Jaisalmer in a closer way. Infact, to be part of the Desert Festival was perhaps the major reason, which could not be fulfilled on my last trip. I could devote another one day for the purpose. All the hotels were already booked, but luckily I got a small room in a budget hotel. The hotel, its services and amenities were not up to the mark, but the tariff was hefty, probably because of the season. The food was undoubtedly delicious. The essence of Rajasthani food itself makes it out of the world. Extra-ordinarily flavoursome! In the evening, I asked the manager to arrange a camel ride for me along with a guide.
